It establishes the role\nof distributed object communications infrastructure in providing necessary\nsupport for the framework technology. Specification methods for mapping a CIM\nFramework specification to alternative infrastructure technologies are also\naddressed by this technical architecture. However, these mappings are not\nintended to be prescriptive. Further work may be required to define additional\nmappings to emerging technologies. Rather, the technical architecture identifies those crucial\ntechnical requirements that should be considered by both CIM software suppliers\nand consumers. The proposed standard identifies the technical capabilities\nimplementations should provide, but leaves the implementation options open.
