Hydrogen chloride is heavier than air and fumes strongly in moist air. It is very soluble in water and alcohol, and also soluble in ether. Hydrogen chloride is shipped as a liquefied compressed gas stored under its own vapor pressure. As long as liquid is present in the cylinder, the pressure will remain fairly constant. When the liquid phase is exhausted, the cylinder pressure will drop rather rapidly.

Referenced SEMI Standards

None.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0567/3402/3747/files/CVolume_68a73b73-f6ba-456c-a6f7-0789e40c1a52.png?v=1776703027
https://store-dev2.semi.org/en-jp/products/c00336-semi-c3-36-standard-for-hydrogen-chloride-hcl-99-994-quality-provisional
